May we introduce: Pfronten-Schmuck
 
We are presently the market leader in the sale of giftware and souvenirs in the area of South Germany. Our extensive product selection includes also fashion jewellery, trend articles et dream balls.
Together with our trade partner in the far east, we make all efforts to attain the best quality possible. However, in order to achieve this, regular testing and random sample inspections are a must. We have learned that high quality generates trust in our customers and this is of the utmost importance.

-         How we became a success story  -
 
1972 – Hans and Katharina Lauterbach close their sales company in Munich and open, one year after leaving Munich, the “Edelsteinschleiferei Naturkunst” in Pfronten-Heitlern, located in beautiful Allgäu.
Fashion jewellery is produced with real precious and semi-precious stones – Something completely new at the time.
The very first fair exhibition at the Allgäuer Festwoche 197 is followed by the opening of a new store in downtown Pfronten where beside self-made jewellery, giftware and souvenirs are sold.
1976 – The first store in Pfronten-Heitlern is now too small. The production is relocated in downtown Pfronten where sales rooms occupy 80 SQ KM and production the remaining 240 SQ KM. That same year, Hans Lauterbach passes his final exams as gemmologist DgemG, and becomes the youngest “gemstone tester” worldwide.
The first edition of a customer newspaper appears, with an article from Franz-Josef-Strauss and the first catalogue is printed.
 
1977 / 1978 More and more retailers become aware of our products. They even come in busses for a tour of our company.  Sales increase.
In 1978 Hans Lauterbach passes away.. His wife Katharina and her oldest son, Hans, take over the company.
 
1980 / 1988 – The second of three sons, Jürgen Lauterbach, who just completed his vocational training as goldsmith, takes over purchasing and the management of the jewellery store
The same year, Hans Lauterbach starts the wholesale business and the first sales representative – Hans Ramsperger – takes over our products in his assortment.
 
1984 – The first employees are hired. 3 women are now working for the wholesale business. The first fair booth of 15 SQ KM it set up and the first orders from neighbour country Austria are delivered.
1988 is marked by the opening of a new branch in Vils, Austria.
 
 1993 / 1994 Hans and Jürgen Lauterbach take over the company as equal partners. A limited company is founded and the company name is changed from “Edelsteinschleiferei Lauterbach” to “Pfronten-Schmuck GmbH”. The company Beer / Austria in Pflach/Tirol is taken over and the production integrated into the mother company.
 
1998 / 1999 The trade relations with the far east begin. The first 20 containers full of merchandise are imported and the goods divided into two floors, four subsidiary warehouses and one relocated site. At this point we deliver to 2000 customers inland and abroad.
 
2000 The new company headquarters in Pfronten-Weißbach are completed. The surface of production is now 1000 SQ KM.
Pfronten-Schmuck is now exhibiting yearly at 12 fairs within Germany and Austria..
 
2003 / 2006 A giftware outlet factory that sells souvenirs and giftware in the busy season is opened next to the existing jewellery store in the Allgäuer Str. 8.
Advertising image and corporate identity are redefined..
 
2007 The number of employees rises temporarily to 25. Our women’s quota is at 85% in each section of the company.  Our customer base counts 3000 customers.
 
2008 The Italian market is being developed. A sales representative network is established. Sales support is carried out by our on site office staff in the Italian language.
 
2009 Through the purchase of new, high-quality printers we are now in a position to supply custom made pictures in small quantities for souvenir articles. The IT structure is now supported by high-performance computers. 2 new jobs are added in the graphic section.
 
2010 Pfronten-Schmuck establishes itself successfully in France. Thanks to Mrs. David’s dedication, the French market grows fast. Pfronten-Schmuck exhibits at fairs in Rennes, Nice and Lyon. Here, as well as in Italy, sales support is carried out by our on site office staff in the French language.

2011 Pfronten-Schmuck is now supplying a renowned retail store chain with its name articles. 
 
2012 We now deliver to 4000 customers all over Europe and employ a total of 32 sales representatives. Due to the introduction of the european REACH law, an extensive and costly readjustment of quality management becomes necessary and is carried out successfully.
 
2013 Our new web shop is now online after half a year of work. Our customers can now consult it in the German, English, French and Italian language and have immediate access to their documents and can check stock availability as well as delivery times. That way, Pfronten-Schmuck is one step ahead of its competitors.
